I produce video and photography content for Gabucci but also write a few blog posts relevant to his market and the labels he sells. This season no exception except for the growing interest in sustainability and traceability in fashion that is really great to see.

John Smedley are creating garments from British Alpaca, Guanaco and Wool where the fibres can be traced to the flock and even the individual animal.

Van Gils have taken a different approach, launched The Green Stitch, a collection bassed on sustainable fabrics and materials including of recycled wool and organic cotton.

They can guarantee the fabrics used are organic and ecological and it aids greater transparency in the fashion industry.

With so much wastage in fashion this has to be a great change in direction. Van Gils also feature in a joint video with Stella Era showing a mobile charging station and eclectic electric bike. You can view on the above link on the Gabucci site.

UPDATE In 2022, Gabucci are much better able to really embrace sustainability in luxury goods as more comes to market and we’ve added more to their site. I will add a blog about this shortly.

Sustainability becomes an influencing factor: Buying sustainably was not an issue that outweighed value for our customers. But where products were perceived as being of equal value, the brand’s approach to sustainability could prove decisive.
