The aim of This Video Works is to produce high quality video, perfectly optimised and researched to get you found online, and for that to build your business.
To achieve that we need to demonstrate that investing in the filming, and research beforehand to find what your customers are looking for, and to answer their queries in the clips or interviews we shoot, is worth it.
And that can mean making sure that the sites they appear on are fast enough and coded well, also secure and capable of being properly optimised for video. As we tend to work with clients for a long time, we like to get everything off to a good start and having had a separate business building really large, powerful and business critical sites, scaling down what we do to produce simple, fast and affordable sites which we can produce quickly, hasn’t proved that difficult.
Historically, clients stay with us about 7 years and usually only move on when the business is bought out by someone bigger. And equally we generally only work with a handful of businesses at any one time, so with a change of focus it makes sense for us to invest too, by offering really low, fully transparent prices.
Let’s start with complete websites including content, video and photography, oh and proper SEO too, not just a list of key words for you to add, and keep paying for (really like they change every month!)
The four cover key areas we’ve worked in and range between £2000 and £5000 for a complete website including video, photography, researched written content and very importantly SEO, prices vary by the amount of content, photography and video needed, not sector and each can be adapted for any business and consultancy, hospitality, retail, even artists and education or care services. Each design we produce will be as individual as the business we work for and we are very happy to work collaboratively.
We don’t have to do everything, but everything has to be done well.
The first is a single page site with a custom video at the top which would include you talking to camera or we could produce a voice over and just show what the business does if you didn’t want to be seen, but being seen helps people connect emotionally with you and that builds trust. The content is then filled with pics of the produce and content describing what is special about the business and what it offers. And finally a map to help locate it. The single page format works particularly well on mobiles as it lends itself to just scrolling or clicking from one section to another, so it is simple but still full of content. On this example, we don’t show a contact form but we would add one.
The second is a larger multi page site with a custom video at the top of each key page. Again this could include you talking to camera but with more pages and more video there is more opportunity to showcase what you do and introduce services and your team. The content is then filled with pics of the product or service and content describing what is special about the business and what it offers. Again a map and contact page are included.
This is a traditional format but fully mobile friendly and built so that you can expand to meet your needs over time. On this example, there are three blog posts talking about aspects of the industry and we would research, write and optimise three initial ones for you.
The third demo site is a much more detailed site requiring sympathetic writing to convey the right tone and more research to understand the issues being covered. Again we feature a custom video at the top each page which would include dialogue written to bring in all the key search terms that would ensure the page is found and connects with the desired audience.
The content is researched and supported with original photography to support the message and services offered. The site isn’t a great deal larger than the construction demo but is meant to give an example of where the content needs a professional writer to bring out the benefits of the business and to tailor the messages clearly to a highly targeted audience. The increased budget also allows for more detailed SEO work to be included.
The aim of each of these sites is to provide a base that can really drive a business or consultancy forward and provide a platform on which you can grow and develop, whilst keeping costs low, maintaining consistency and providing security. They are also built to engage an audience, convey trust by presenting a business as dynamic, professional organisation with integrity, be it 1, 2 or 100 plus staff.
The final demo is a detailed site with custom video throughout and lots of images and video showing the processes of restoring the vehicles. Content should include you talking to camera about the service and again bringing in all the key terms to ensure the content, once optimised for search, connects to prospective customers. The dialogue in the video is converted into ‘structured data, which search engines can ‘read’ and that is submitted to them so that they can connect you to the queries your potential customers are asking of them. It’s a win win, the customer finds what they want, you find the customers you want and Google and the other search engines deliver the perfect products and businesses to their customers, all of us.
The content on this demo requires a lot of photography and video to really demonstrate the skills and services the business has to offer, and this combined with the SEO provided will drive business to the site quickly and consistently, keeping the work flowing in. Each demo is part optimised as none of these represent real companies and we don’t want them to compete with genuine business or confuse customers, hence a large message on each saying it is a demo for a video production company, but of the four this gets the most interest with almost daily requests for more info on prices for our car restoration services!
The aim of these sites is to build professional, effective sites that enable our clients really show what they do and to take advantage of high quality writing, research and SEO along with great photography and powerful video to present their businesses.
In return, we get to show what we can do and build a portfolio of superb work and great case histories of driving businesses forward.
Our investment in our clients growth is as long term as we hope theirs is in us.
I’ve worked as a producer, writer and researcher for huge agencies in the UK and US most of my career but also freelanced as a photographer, with pics regularly in some of the best fashion and home magazines, but also I’ve run an SAAS programming company again both in the US and here.
The filming, producing and photography I love and want to drive forward, the programming and database work I had hoped to drop when our last huge sites moved on. But the skills involved scale down extremely well and mean I can produce something extraordinary for much less than ‘ordinary’ websites cost, and make them much more effective too.
And yes AI does play a part, we use as a powerful research tool for SEO and we also use Google extensively for creating optimised shopping feeds, profiles and combining the two together enables us produce a really effective means of promoting a business and connecting with its chosen audience.
From my own research these costs could seem too good to be true but they are genuine, and the results will speak for themselves.
